Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with DateScan. If you're not, here's exactly how refunds work — no dark patterns, no hoops.

1. Plans We Offer

All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), our Merchant of Record. Your receipt, billing emails, and refund processing all go through Lemon Squeezy.

2. 14-Day Refund Window (EU Customers)

In accordance with EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU), customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of digital content within 14 days of purchase, unless you have expressly waived this right at checkout by confirming that the digital service has begun and you understand you lose the withdrawal right once you start using Pro features.

If you have not yet used any Pro features, you may request a full refund within 14 days, no questions asked.

3. Refunds After Starting Pro Features

Because DateScan is digital content delivered instantly, once you begin using Pro features (e.g. viewing the detailed Action Plan or unlocked Style Coach results), the service has been "performed" under EU digital content rules, and the statutory right of withdrawal no longer applies.

That said, we may still offer a discretionary refund in the following cases:

4. Single Scan — Important Notes

The Single Scan is a one-time $1.99 purchase that grants one full Pro scan. Because it is consumed immediately upon use, refunds are only available if the scan fails to load, crashes, or produces no result due to a technical fault. Once a scan has been successfully delivered, the product is considered "used" and no refund applies.

5. Recurring Subscriptions (Weekly / Monthly / Yearly)

Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly plans are auto-renewing subscriptions billed by Lemon Squeezy until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal link included in your Lemon Squeezy purchase receipt, or by emailing us at info@datescan.app.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then, and won't be charged again. We do not prorate partial refunds for the unused portion of the current period, except where required by law (see EU 14-day withdrawal below).

6. How to Request a Refund

You have two options:

Option A — Self-serve via Lemon Squeezy: Your original purchase email from Lemon Squeezy contains a "Manage your subscription" link. From there you can view invoices, update your payment method, and cancel future renewals directly.

Option B — Email us: Send a message to info@datescan.app with:

7. Processing Time

We aim to respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank and payment provider.

8. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us or use the Lemon Squeezy customer portal first. Initiating a chargeback with your bank without first reaching out may result in permanent suspension of your Pro access. We'd much rather just issue the refund directly — it's faster for everyone.

9. No Partial Refunds for Active Periods

Once the 14-day EU withdrawal period expires or is waived, we do not prorate partial refunds for unused days of an active Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly period. You keep Pro access until the end of the period, and simply aren't charged again.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply only to purchases made after the update date.
